Region and Research Centres

OOur region spanning across the Murray River from the northern Victorian irrigation regions to Southern Riverina in NSW presents a unique opportunity to build a knowledge base across many regions, environmental conditions, crop types, management systems and irrigation systems.

Research Centres

Irrigation Farmers Network is uniquely placed with two different research centres offering the opportunity for local farmers to connect with relevant research that relates to their own farming system, soils, climate and irrigation system.
Research trials conducted at the sites focuses on all aspects of irrigated winter and summer grain, fodder and forage production including agronomy, irrigation scheduling, plant nutrition, crop diseases, weed and pest management and risk management.

Deniliquin Research and Extension Hub

Located on the edge of the Southern NSW township of Deniliquin, our Research and Extension Hub was newly leased in 2024. It comprises of 90ha with predominantly surface irrigation. This site has been unfarmed for a considerable period so is currently in development. Our aim is to begin farming with initial research on this block starting in the 2025 growing season.
